The 4.2 or 107mm mortar is a rifled mortar, spin stabilizing projectile. Although the mortar requires a truck or tracked mortar carrier to move it, it 's still much lighter than field artillery pieces. It outranges light and medium mortars, and the explosive power is much greater.
